Project 1 Critique

Overall, I think that the thing I wanted to work on most in my piece is just making everything look unified. Right now I have all of the text laid out in the spreads, but I want to create a better flow and use of hierarchy that brings the whole book together. One of the things that I am going to play around with is the placement and size of my page number. I also want to work with the headers and make them more distinct.

One of the things that I have been struggling with is how to add in images. I mentioned during the critique that I didn't want the images to have a childish feel to them, but rather a more mature aspect. However, considering the content of the book, I think having those more cartoon like illustrations used sparingly may help to unify the book. Ideally, I would like the illustrations to be on the chapter pages, but I may incorporate them into the header or footer. I do want the title page to be more illustrative as a way to tie it all together with some of those graphic images spilling over into the table of contents area as well.
